Don’t deceive yourself. Nigerians
are dirt poor! Only less than 1%
enjoy the wealth of Nigeria.
Here are the world bank stats on Nigeria:
70% – Living on less than $1.25/day – 115 million people
20% – Living on less than $3/day – 40 million people
5% – Living on less than $10/day – 7 million people
4% – Living on $12 – $30/day – 6 million people
1% – Living on over $30/day – 1.7 million people
GDP – $380 billion, GDP per capita $2,200 = N300,000. This means if you take the GDP and divide it by the total population (170 million) you will get the average yearly income of Nigerians.
Therefore a mere N300,000 is the average annual income of a Nigerian. THis translates to less than US$200/month!!!!!! What a poor country whose leaders have gone unopposed stealing wealth meant for millions.
